Somewhere up above you lay, looking at heavens sweet array.
You look down on me, keep me safe, to the Lord my prayers you relay.
We dedicated you to our Father; not knowing he'd want you so soon.
But he sent down an angel and carried you away.
We rejoice at your gain, but I wish I had the chance to say;
I love you.
We wanted to take care of you, love you, watch over you, and bring you up in the Lord.
But where you are is much better; you never had to cry, hurt, sin or even die.
I guess now it's us that you must take care of.
For you are my little guardian angel watching from above.
